THE IONIAN ISLANDS

Corfu, Cefalonia, Itaca, Zaante and LEFKADA: The latter is connected to the mainland by a road which crosses the lagoon, therefore easily reached by car. Departing by Ferry from Trieste, Venice, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi for Igoumenitsa Lefkada is then 120 kms along the coastal road. The Island can also be reached by air: from Italy or any other European city to Athens and then a daily flight during summer to Lefkada and three times a week the rest of the year.

HOW TO GET TO THE RESIDENCE

Once out of the port of Igoumenitsa follow the indications for Preveza 90 kms away. At Preveza continue to Aktio accrossing the submarine tunnel. Arriving at Aktio please follow the indication to Lefkada (Lefkas, about 15 kms) which you will reach once you have crossed the swing bridge.
From Lefkada take the direction Nidri, Vliho. And after passing through the small town of Vliho follow the indications for Sivota, follow the unpaved road for about 01 Km.

The residence is about 25 kms from the city of Lefkada near Sivota a charming village right on the sea protected by a beautiful natural bay full of restaurants (6 of which have special rates for the guests of the residence), bars and small shops.

DISTANCE FROM SIVOTA

By car about 1km but only 400 mts walking distance along the coast.

DISTANCE FROM SEA

The residence is facing the sea and can be reached by a path through the trees which brings you out right onto the platform for sunbathing.

SIVOTA PORT

400 mts from the residence with a pier for mooring any type of boat (at no charge). Water and electricty are available and also fuel but on request.

SHOPS

There are quite a few basic shops in Sivota (for clothes, handicrafts, a small supermarket and a bar/pub). In Vasiliki, about 1 km away, there are many more including a chemist and First Aid centre. The hospital is in Lefkada, about 25 kms away.

RESTAURANTS:

In Sivota there are many typical restaurants offering fresh fish (caught by the local fishermen) and also in the nearby villages such as Nidri and Vasiliki.

EXCURSIONS:

From Nidri and Vasiliki it is possible to go on one day trips to Itaca, Cefalonia, Skorpios (belonging to the Onassis family) and the Meganesi Caves. Sandy and stony beaches can be found in Vasiliki and Poros. The best beach though is at Katsiki and can be reached by boat from Vassiliki or by car (about 35 kms). We advice you take on of these trips and also try the sand-therapy. Sailing boats and motor boats can be rented and you can book these at the reception.
